Welcome To Our Neighborhood…
As owner and operator of Southern Maine Lobster Company, Bruce brings 15 years of lobster industry experience to his business. You can’t find a job, big or small, that Bruce hasn’t done. From lobstering the Atlantic Ocean off of Maine’s rugged shores to processing and shipping. Having his hand in every aspect of this industry is great news for YOU, the customer, because it gives Bruce the knowledge and capability to provide the best possible products for the most reasonable prices.
Bruce grew up in York, ME and attended York High School. After he graduated in 2005 he began lobstering in our very own York Harbor to pay his way through college. Bruce got his degree from the University of Maine Farmington in 2009. From there he returned home and continued to hone his craft for two more years before starting Southern Maine Lobster in 2011.
The goal for Bruce and his team is to keep the lobster market up. By selling wholesale and retail they can pay fisherman in our community competitive prices to boost that business while acting as a bridge between this locally caught fresh product and the consumer they strive to take care of. Southern Maine Lobster Company has increased their distribution net each year so they can bring the authentic Maine lobster experience to everyone, both through their retail store and delivery to restaurants around the country.
In the wide world of lobsters, Southern Maine Lobster Company may have big dreams, but they still consider themselves a small, neighborhood enterprise. It is 100% owner operated and Bruce dedicates himself to providing top notch customer service to his every growing number of supporters.
When you close your eyes and think of a beautiful, waterfront town in New England on a sunny day in July you’re picturing York, Maine.
It’s a friendly, tourist driven community that prides itself on having activities for all ages. When people come to visit York, it’s love at first sight.
Whether it’s hiking the trails of Mount Agamenticus, shopping in downtown, riding the scrambler at York’s Wild Animal Kingdom, dinning at famous restaurants, touring historic York, or of course, enjoying the cleanest and longest beaches around, there’s truly something for everyone. York is only a short drive from New Hampshire and Massachusetts, playing host to a good portion of New Englanders during the summer months.
The town is at its busiest from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but not matter how crazy the rush gets, Southern Maine Lobster Company is your stop for the personal, small-town experience only they can provide.
